libuzizhi is a textile studio rooted in plant dyeing, hand-tied dyeing, natural fibers, and the textile traditions of Southwest China. Led by designer Zhang Meizhen, a Bai tie-dye intangible cultural heritage inheritor, we create curtains, noren, room dividers, silk scarves, and art fabrics for contemporary living.

Many libuzizhi textiles are made through hand-tied dyeing and plant-dyeing processes. Our linen curtains, linen noren, ramie room dividers, organza pieces, silk scarves, and one-of-a-kind textile works are created with natural fibers and slow handwork.

Each piece may carry subtle differences in tone, texture, and pattern. These differences are part of the beauty of handmade textiles.

Yes. Original pattern design is an important part of libuzizhi.Our studio works with an archive of over 1,200 original patterns, developed through drawing, color studies, textile experiments, and seasonal visual research. Some patterns are expressed through hand-dyeing and tying; others are developed as sheer textile images for light-filled rooms.

We do not treat pattern as surface decoration. For us, pattern is a language of memory, rhythm, nature, and space.

Linen has a warm, familiar, and lived-in character. It softens naturally with use and carries wrinkles in a relaxed way, making it especially close to everyday interiors.

Ramie has a clearer texture and a more structured presence. Its fiber character gives it a crisp, breathable, and slightly austere beauty, which works beautifully for doorway curtains and soft partitions.

They are not better or worse than each other. They simply speak different textile languages.

A noren is a fabric curtain often used in doorways, entrances, or interior passages. It can soften a threshold, create privacy, divide a space, or simply add a quiet textile layer to a room.

At libuzizhi, we use the word “noren” not only as a product name, but as a way to describe a soft boundary between rooms, light, air, and daily movement.

Original Pattern Sheer Drapery is a collection developed from libuzizhi’s original pattern archive.These pieces are designed for transparency, light, and atmosphere. When placed near a window, the pattern becomes softer, less fixed, and more connected to the movement of the room.

They are not ordinary decorative curtains. They are original textile images made to live with light.

Yes. We offer custom sizes for curtains, noren, doorway panels, and room dividers.Please contact us with your desired width, height, space photos if available, and how you would like the textile to be used. We will suggest a suitable direction based on the fabric and the space.

Yes. We offer custom color directions depending on the fabric, collection, and making process.For plant-dyed textiles, colors may not appear as industrially exact shades, but we can work within a color mood, such as indigo, warm beige, muted green, soft yellow, earthy brown, or neutral tones.

The usual custom period is around 15 days, depending on the fabric, size, color direction, and complexity of the work.

For larger interior projects, the timeline may be discussed separately.

Yes. We welcome collaborations with interior designers, stylists, boutique hotels, tea rooms, studios, restaurants, and independent retail spaces.

Our textiles are suitable for doorways, windows, soft partitions, wall-like textile layers, and atmospheric interior installations.

Curtain rods are included only with ramie curtain products, unless otherwise stated.For linen noren, linen doorway panels, linen curtains, sheer drapery, organza curtains, silk scarves, and art fabrics, curtain rods are not included by default.

They are especially suitable for spaces that need softness, privacy, light filtering, or a gentle visual boundary.

Most libuzizhi textiles are not designed as blackout curtains. They are created to soften light, filter space, and bring texture, color, and atmosphere into a room.

If you need full blackout, these pieces may be better used as decorative or atmospheric layers.

Each piece will be close to the photographed style, color direction, and overall feeling. However, because many of our textiles are handmade, the exact tone, texture, and pattern may vary slightly.

For One-of-a-Kind Noren, the photographed piece is the actual individual textile work.

Natural fibers and plant-based colors may soften, fade slightly, or develop a more lived-in texture with use.

This is part of the beauty of natural materials. The textile does not remain frozen in one moment; it continues to live with the room, the light, and the person who uses it.
